Caption: Flight deck fire fighters extinguish a burning F4U "Corsair", after it crashed on board, 8 April 1945. Fire started when gasoline from the plane's belly tank hit the hot engine. The carrier was then operating in support of the Okinawa Invasion. Note: barrier wires wrapped around the propeller hub.
