Plane is probably that of a Lieutenant Yano, the leader of a section of torpedo bombers from SHOKAKU, who was shot down by Lieutenant Junior Grade William E. Hall (who would be awarded the medal of honor for his activities during the anti-torpedo plane patrol action of that date). Note sailor at right foreground not wearing a helmet!
