Title: Surrender of Japan, 1945
Description: A Japanese landing craft brings the Japanese representatives to ceremonies surrendering the Bonin Islands, off Chichi Jima, 3 September 1945. Ceremonies were held on board USS Dunlap (DD-384). Note double prow and white flag of this craft. Also awning rigged to protect the passengers. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
