(Japanese heavy cruiser, 1927) View on the the sunken ship's forecastle, at Kure, Japan, 9 October 1945. She had been hit by air attacks on 24 and 28 July 1945, resulting in her loss. Note the buckled deck plating, caused by a 500-pound bomb that exploded below during the 24 July attack by U.S. Navy carrier aircraft.
