Description: USS Santee (ACV-29, later CVE-29) Photograped circa mid-October 1942, shortly before she participated in the invasion of Morocco. Aircraft on her flight deck include (from aft) SBD scout-bombers, F6F fighters and TBF torpedo planes. She is painted in Camouflage Measure 17, with yellow primer showing where the paint has worn off. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
