With the fall of Saigon to Communist forces in April 1975, United States involvement in Vietnam came to an end.  Admiral Holloway assumed the responsibility for naval operations during the evacuation of United States nationals and over 100,000 South Vietnamese refugees, through Operation Frequent Wind.
