Helen, a small steamer employed as guard boat and transport, was burned by Confederate army troops at Pensacola in May 1862 to prevent capture.

Helen used in transporting Confederate provisions along the Florida coast was captured with a cargo of corn by a boat from USS Sagamore near Bayport on 2 April 1863. She was then destroyed by fire.
