Caption: At Manus, Admiralty Islands, circa 1944-45. It was torpedoed by Japanese aircraft on 29 April 1945. The torpedo was fired from approximately the same angle as the camera in this view, passed under a barge and exploded against section "G." Note small seaplane tender (AVP) and "Liberty" type cargo ship (possibly a Navy AK) in the drydock.
