Caption: Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, USN, CINCPAC, pins the Navy Cross on Commander John A. Scott, USN, whose submarine, USS TUNNY (SS-282) on one patrol sank approximately 18,000 tons of enemy shipping and damaged two Japanese auxiliary aircraft carriers. He also holds the Silver Star medal. Photo taken at CINCPAC headquarters, Pearl Harbor, 4 August 1943.
