Description: (Japanese Destroyer, 1926-1942) Beached in Purvis Bay, Florida Island, Solomon Islands, in 1944. She had been sunk on 4 May 1942, when USS Yorktown (CV-5) planes raided the Tulagi area, and was salvaged by the U.S. Navy in 1943. Note torpedo davit and drum stowage at left. Also torpedo reload box alongside the after smokestack. Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the U.S. National Archives.color
