Although the book opens with the French naval reoccupation of Tonkin in northern Vietnam in 1946, and operations on the Red River, the focus rapidly shifts to Hue in central Vietnam (Annam), and then on to the Mekong Delta of southern Vietnam (Cochin China) for riverine operations, including convoy escort, resupply of isolated garrisons, etc., in the Ca Mau Peninsula, in the vicinity of the Plain of Reeds, etc. during 1947. This is a rare, non-circulating item.].
