Scope and Content Notes
These records are the primary source materials used by the Vietnam Operational History Section of the Naval Historical Center to prepare classified monthly summaries of the U.S. Navy's operations in Southeast Asia. The series, entitled "United States Naval Operations, Vietnam” and the Vietnam Operational History Section were ended in late 1970. However, the records provided by naval operating forces continued to be received and processed to the end of 1973.
Messages make up the bulk of this record group, but correspondence, reports, miscellaneous papers, and newspaper clippings also are included.
