This plan, dated 18 October 1941, provides a 664-foot (waterline length) ship of 14,200 tons (standard displacement). It emphasizes deck armor over speed and number of main battery guns. Scale of the original drawings is 1/32 = 1'. The original plan is in the 1939-1944 Spring Styles Book held by the Naval History and Heritage Command.
