See W. See, a motorboat built in 1915 by W. F. Downs, Bay Shore, N.J., was acquired by the Navy on 18 June 1917 from Charles W. Cushman of Vernon, N.Y.; and commissioned on 18 August 1917, Chief Boatswain's Mate John H. Wilson, USNRF, in command.

See W. See operated from Section Base No. 5 on patrol duty off the entrance to New York harbor during World War I. She was decommissioned on 13 December 1918, and struck from the Navy list and returned to her owner the next day.
