One sterling silver medal from Unted Airlines commemorating Victory in Europe Day May 8, 1945. The obverse of the medal has an airplane with the insignia of United Airlines in bas relief and "V-E Day" above. The reverse reads "Token Presented to those in flight with United Air Lines May 8, 1945."

V-E day, the shortened form of Victory in Europe Day, marks the day that the Allies officially accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany, thus ending World War II in Europe.
