Caption: View of a highline transfer in the North Atlantic, from USS WASP (CV-7) of four newsmen, one of whom is seen nearing the ship's bridge. He is either Fletcher Pratt; Thomas Morgan; Joseph Driscoll, or G. H. Spilman. Note modifications on the old "4-piper" for escort duties - 3"/50s funnel mods; welded-over ports; splinter shielding around main battery; and interesting marking hull #239 beneath the bridge (a common World War I practice).
