U.S. Navy Response to the 1855 Yellow Fever Epidemic

This pamphlet discusses the 1855 Yellow Fever Epidemic which hit the Portsmouth and Norfolk, Virginia areas.  The Naval Hospital at the Gosport Navy Yard assisted in the crisis, and the research and studies performed on the outbreak at the Yard led medical professionals to determine the causes of Yellow Fever.
