The National Museum of the United States Navy at the Washington Navy Yard has started a multi-year consolidation of its physical space and collections as staff works on plans for the design and construction of a new museum campus. Building 76 is closed to the public Monday through Friday to allow for movement of artifacts and exhibits but remains open to the public on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For Special Events, contact Events-Facility Manager James Creasman at james.f.creasman2.civ@us.navy.mil or at 202.433.2385.

The museum will continue to engage with the local and online community through diverse public and educational programming in person and virtually and in collaboration with community partners in offsite venues such as schools, community centers, assisted living facilities, libraries, and other public venues.

The museum apologizes for any inconvenience but is excited about this new chapter for the National Museum of the U.S. Navy.

Admission (Entry) is free, and visitors do not need a ticket.

Please be aware that we are a government agency. If there are any delays or closures within the government, we will follow under alternate schedule. Contact us at 202-685-0589 to confirm if the museum is operating on normal hours.
