Hours of Operation
Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Cold War Gallery, Bldg. 70, is now closed.
The National Museum of the United States Navy located on the Washington Navy Yard is embarking on a multiyear consolidation of its physical space and collections as it prepares for the opening of a planned new museum. To facilitate this major project, the museum will reduce its hours of operation to the public. After Nov. 7, the Cold War Gallery located in Bldg. 70 will close to visitors to begin the removal of artifacts and exhibits. After Nov. 12, the main museum building located in Building 76 will close Monday through Friday to allow for movement of artifacts and exhibits but remain open to the public Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The museum will still be available for special events for Department of Navy organizations and Honor Flights. Event requests are subject to museum facility work schedules and should be scheduled well in advance.
Upon arrival at the 11th and O St. Gate, please call 202-685-0589 for escort.

The museum will continue to engage with the local and online community through diverse public and educational programming in person and virtually and in collaboration with community partners in offsite venues such as schools, community centers, assisted living facilities, libraries, and other public venues.
The museum apologizes for any inconvenience but is excited about this new chapter for the National Museum of the U.S. Navy.
Admission (Entry) is free, and visitors do not need a ticket.
