Humanitarian Actions

The U.S. Navy's humanitarian operations have given credence to our service members who provide help in a time of need.  Since the days of wooden ships, the Navy has assisted with rescues at sea, the transportation of emergency personnel and disaster relief supplies, community service (both in the United States and abroad), emergency relief operations, and medical supplies.

This chronological presentation is a continual work in progress and is only a sampling of the many humanitarian actions the Navy has been involved with since the 19th Century.
