Commissioned in September 1912, USS Wyoming (BB-32) participated in World War I in the North Sea as part of Battleship Division Nine, serving with the British Grand Fleet.   The battleship became a training ship in the 1930s and trained gunners throughout World War II.  Decommissioned in 1947, Wyoming was then scrapped.    The bell was transferred to the Naval Historical Center (now Naval History and Heritage Command).   Loaned to the Naval Historical Display Center (now National Museum of the U.S. Navy), it was placed on display in the World War I exhibit area, eventually on prominent viewing area at the entrance. Removed in November 2022, Wyoming's bell was transferred to the Naval History and Heritage Command’s Curator Branch, Collection Management Facility, at Richmond, Virginia.
