USN 711010: The Injun II Satellite

USN 711010:  The Injun II satellite.  This satellite was built by the State University of Iowa under the Office of Naval Research sponsorship, will study the relationship between alien-belt radiation and such aurora phenomena as “Northern Lights”.  It was one of five-satellites making up the Composite I payload.    Photograph released January 24, 1962.  Official U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.
