<p>80-G-317347: German U-Boat, U-546, April 1945. German U-Boat officers and sailors taken onboard USS Bogue (CVE 9). The original caption states “ it was the last UB sunk by destroyer escorts during World War II.” No U-Boat is specifically mentioned, but the last U-Boat sunk by destroyer escorts known was U-546, April 24, 1945. On that date, U-546 also sank USS Frederick C. Davis (DE 136), which are shown in some of the proceeding photographs. Photograph released, April 25, 1945.&nbsp;</p>
