<p>80-G-77193: Air Attacks on German U-boats, WWII.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;German submarine, U-84, damaged by plane from USS Core (CVE 13), piloted by Ensign William McClane, probably from August 7, 1943.&nbsp;&nbsp; The U-boat was sunk in the North Atlantic, south-west of Bermuda by a Fido homing torpedo fired from a PB4Y “Liberator” aircraft from Bombing Squadron One Hundred Five (VB-105).&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Incident #4085.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Released August 23, 1943.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>
