Lot-9432-16: Battle of Bataan, January –April 1942.  U.S. Army Officer Questions Japanese Taken Prisoner at Bataan.  Japanese prisoners of American and Filipino forces on Bataan Peninsula, in the Philippines, are questioned by Brigadier General Clinton Pierce, (left), of the U.S. Army.  Note that one of the prisoners (lower right-hand corner) is eating a sandwich.  The picture is one of the last to reach the outside world before the heroic Bataan defenders finally succumbed to disease, hunger and vastly overwhelming numbers.
