80-G-490116:  Raids on Japanese Home Islands, July 1945.   Japanese freighter snaps in two following a direct bomb hit from carrier-based aircraft of the Third Fleet.  The ship was bombed and destroyed near Tsugaru-Kaikyo, east of Hokkaido, Japan. An empty life boat can be seen at top, center, as the bow breaks away following an internal explosion, July 24, 1945.
