80-G-50751:  Aleutian Islands Campaign, June 1942 - August 1943.   Battle for Attu, May 1943.  USS Heywood (APA-6), looking into the hold #5 while off Attu, Aleutian Islands, May 11, 1943.   The hold is open to permit the unloading of jeeps, tractors, ammunition etc., as soon as the landing boats return from having carried troops to the beach.  Note troops eating chow on second deck of the hold.   U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives.  (2016/05/10).
