German Forces

The German forces were led by Field Marshal Gerd von Rundstedt and Field Marshal Erwin Rommel.   The German army at Omaha Beach, 352nd, Infantry Division, was under the command of Generalleutnant Dietrich Kraiss.  The German Army at Utah Beach, 709th Static Infantry Division, was under the command of Generalleutnant Karl-Wilhelm von Schlieben.  The images in this section are mainly after the invasion and with the Germans as Prisoners of War.
