Rockets were fired on that date from Grumman TBF Avenger to damage German U-boat, U-758. Shown: Lieutenant Junior Grade Leonard L. McFord, USN, (center) pilot, first sighted the enemy sub. His gunner was AMM2/C William H. Ryder, USN, (right) and his radiomen was ARM3/C Charles M. Gertsch, USN. Photographed released 25 May 1944.&nbsp;</p>
