President Woodrow Wilson's Peace Negotiations: 1918-1919
President Woodrow Wilson travelled to France on board USS George Washington (ID-3018), escorted by U.S. Navy battleships, four times from December 1918 to July 1919, where the President took part in peace negotiations and promoted the League of Nations. The trip is noteable in that it was the first overseas trip by an American Head of State.
