<p>165-WGZ-A-27: “How France Repels Air Attacks on Paris.” Zeppelins have ceased to visit Paris and Parisians understand the reason to be the perfect system of anti-aircraft defenses devised since their first visit and controlled by one responsible man. This morning comes the announcement that Sir Percy W. Scott has been appointed to take charge of the gunnery defenses of London against enemy-aircraft, and announcement that will satisfy all Londoners. This photograph shows one of the provisions made on the outskirts of Paris by the military authorities for the defense of the City and has been found, in combination with general defenses, capable of dealing with either Taubes or Zeppelins. Photograph was taken by the official photographic service of the French Army. Received at the American Embassy in London, 21 September 1915. (8/27/2014).</p>
