Hospital Corps and Pharmacist's Mates

Established in June 1898, servicemen in the Hospital Corps served onboard U.S. Navy warships and transports, along with the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I.    In 1916, the rate structure of Pharmacist's Mate was introduced and remained until 1947.
