U.S. Armed Forces Support on Alaskan Islands

This section pertains to the Alaskan Islands that assisted and supported the Aleutian Islands Campaign, then maintained vigilance of a further attack following the Japanese evacuation of Kiska in July 1943.    The Alaskan bases also participated in raids against the Kuril Islands, where the Japanese occupied the Russian island of Paramushiro.
