Bricks and Bluejackets: A LEGO® Event

Mark your calendar for August 27!

lego

Calling all LEGO® builders! Each year, the museum hosts a day of LEGO® fun where children of all ages can build Navy-inspired ships, vehicles, and more. The fourth annual event is back in August 2022.

Build a real Navy ship using the museum's kits. Build kits are offered in easy, medium, hard, and expert levels for builders of all skill levels. Sailors are on hand to share stories about each of the ships. Children can also use the museum's free build LEGOs® to create their own Navy-inspired design. Enter your best build into the competition for a chance to win a LEGO® Store gift card.

All attendees must register in advance. Timed entry to this event allows for better COVID-19 precautions.

2022 Competition

Put your creativity to the test! Use the museum's free build LEGOs® to create your own unique, Navy-inspired design. Participants are entered for a chance to win a LEGO® Store gift card. Winners will be notified via call or email the week after the event. Entries are built on site using the museum's bricks. LEGO® bricks must stay at the museum.

 • Children of all ages may participate in this build competition. Submissions will be divided into appropriate age groups.
 • Designs must be related to the United States Navy (such as ships, naval aviation, or sailors) or Naval Station Great Lakes.
 • Prizes are handed out for first and second place designs in each age group, voted on by a panel of museum staff and volunteers.
 • One prize is awarded for overall "Fan Favorite," voted on by the museum's Facebook followers. Parents may opt for their child's design to not be included in this part of the competition. Please note, all entries uploaded to Facebook will include an image of the LEGO® design with the competitor's first name and last name initial and the child's age (example: John D. Age 7).
