Field Trips

No cost field trips for your students.

Get out of the classroom and into the museum with a field trip to the National Museum of the American Sailor. Enjoy a guided tour of the museum's exhibits from a knowledgable guide or staff member. Groups may also opt for a self-guided tour of the museum to explore at your own pace. Educators can add a grade-level appropriate activity to any tour.

Current museum exhibits include the following galleries:

- Sails Unfurled: The Dawn of the U.S. Navy

- From Civilian to Sailor: The Professionalization of the U.S. Navy

- Marked by the Sea: Tattoos in the U.S. Navy (temporary)

- A Culture of Ink: Tattoos of Navy Sailors (temporary photography exhibit)

Tours take approximately one hour. All exhibits on the main floor of the museum and are handicap accessible. Lunch space is available upon request. To request a tour, download and return a Tour Reservation form to NHHC_NMAS@us.navy.mil.
