Artifacts and Collections

The U.S. Navy Submarine Force Museum holds over 44,000 items in our collection, which includes items of historic, technological, and cultural significance related to the U.S. Navy’s undersea history, exploration, and technical development. We collect and preserve archival material, and artifacts for use in research, exhibits, and public education programs.

While many artifacts — including but not limited to submersibles, torpedoes, mines, submarine equipment, diving gear, and models — are on exhibit, the majority are kept safely in storage to be used for research and future exhibitions.
