With the Navy's tallest rigid airships reaching heights approaching 150 feet, access to their envelopes was a daunting proposition, especially for those climbing this wooden ladder that was once in Hangar One at NAS Sunnyvale (later Moffett Field) in California. Markings on the ladder reveal that it was made in Germany, which pioneered dirigible operations in World War I.
