The international acclaim afforded the conquerors of the Atlantic came not only in the form of newspaper headlines and banquets, but also in the host of medals and decorations awarded to the crew of the NC-4 and Commander John Towers, the overall commander of the Navy's transatlantic flight. Displayed in the Museum is memorabilia awarded to Towers, A.C. Read, Walter Hinton and Herbert Rodd, including a commemorative NC-4 medal, Order of the Tower and Sword from Portugal, and many others.
