Temco's TT-1 Pinto was part of a unique but short-lived experiment by the Navy to offer an all-jet training program in the early '60s, the TT-1 serving as the introductory primary trainer. With only an hour's endurance, however, the TT-1's performance was deemed insufficient and the program lasted only a year. The Museum's aircraft was one of a handful acquired by civilian pilots and fitted with new powerplants enhancing the aircraft's endurance.
