AH-1J SeaCobra Pictured During Operation MARHUK

Caption: A head on view of an AH-1J SeaCobra of Marine Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMA) 369 taken on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship Cleveland (LPD 7) during the squadron’s participation in Operation MARHUK, which was a milestone in the history of Marine Corps aviation in that it represented the first use of Marine helicopters as a light attack aircraft. Between July and December 1972, HMA-369 AH-1Js logged 620 combat missions in North Vietnam, including attack with 20 millimeter cannon and Zuni rockets and day/night surveillance.
