Title: S.S. ARISTOPHANES (Norwegian Merchant Tanker, 1940-1968)
Caption: The Norwegian Tanker ARISTOPHANES was completed at a Norwegian shipyard in 1940 just prior to the German Invasion. She is shown at San Francisco, California, about 1943. Sold to Aristotle Onassis in 1951 she operated for him under the same name in 1963 she became a stationary bunkering vessel until scrapped in 1968.
