Description: Steaming at high speed during trials, 1920. Photograph from the New York Shipbuilding Corporation, Camden, New Jersey. It bears a date of 18 October 1920, four months after her 18 June 1920 commissioning. Note her 5/51 guns. Brooks was one of five flush-deck destroyers fitted with these weapons, in place of the usual 4/50 guns. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
