Wanka
(MB: l. 48'0"; b. 9'6")

Wanka, a wooden motor boat-is virtually unchronicled in the records of the U.S. Navy. Her place of construction is unknown, but it is believed that she was built about 1901. She is carried on the lists of the period from 1912 to 1919 under "miscellaneous craft." She served with the Louisiana Naval Militia in the pre-World War I years and operated in the New Orleans vicinity, probably for her entire career. On 1 July 1920, she is dropped from the Navy list, and her subsequent fate, like her origin, is unrecorded.
