A Potawatomi chief, grand nephew of Pontiac, who lived in the Midwest section of the United States from 1775 to 1859.

The second Shabonee (YTB-833) was laid down at Marionette, Wis., on 12 June 1974 by the Marionette Marine Corp. and was launched on 24 October 1974. She is scheduled to be completed in June 1975.
