Description: (American Freighter, 1918) Underway during trials, off Seattle, Washington, 7 August 1918, while painted in pattern camouflage. Built by the Skinner & Eddy Corporation, of Seattle, this ship was acquired by the Navy and commissioned as USS West Gotomsaka (ID # 3322) on 7 August 1918. She was returned to the U.S. Shipping Board on 6 June 1919. U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command Photograph.
