Title: Yankee Clipper” Crash Photo Collection
Description: Collection of 16 photographs of the salvage of the wreckage of the Boeing-314 transport seaplane "Yankee Clipper", 1943. The photographs were received with the Lisbon Naval Attaché Report on the crash, serial # 115-43, of March 5, 1943. The photographs show wing wreckage being raised from Lisbon Harbor by floating cranes and placed on a pier. The aircraft had been involved in a landing accident at Cabo Ruvio Seaplane Base, in Lisbon, Portugal on February 22, 1943 – 24 passengers and crew were killed in the crash.
