One image is of Whelchel speaking at ceremonies presenting the Army/Navy “E” to the McCormick Co., August 23, 1943; and the other is a group shot of five officers on a ship, including Whelchel. The third photograph is a signed portrait of RADM Robert G. Carney, circa 1943, inscribed to Whelchel. The photographs do not contain captions and there is no known association between the images.
