2017.23 Melodye Pompa Collection

Collection of 43 photos related to the naval service of WAVE Mary H. Alexander (later Mary H. Hamer), specialist (T) Teacher Link Trainer, First Class. The collection consists of images related to of Mary at Hunter College; NY (group graduation photo); a group photo of Mary’s graduation class on Celestial Navigation at Quonset Point, RI, 1944; while stationed at Atlanta Naval Air Station (1943-1944); group photos of the staff at NAS Key West, including Mary, in1945; with friends Elaine, Ruth, and Jeanne as well as her future husband, Ernest Hamer, whom she met while stationed at NAS Key West. They were married in 1946 following her discharge from service. Most of the individual images are either of Mary or Mary and her eventual husband, Ernest Hamer. An itemized index is available for every photograph.
