Description: Collection of 11 color-tinted postcards depicting US Navy scenes of WWI and earlier. Subject matter includes sailors resting on the USS Constitution at Newport, RI; cleaning a 12” BB Gun; posing with 5” shells; maneuvering a 3” landing force gun ashore. Also included are the following ships: USS Southery (IX-26) and USS Pennsylvania (BB-38), circa 1916, as well as various battleships at Boston Navy Yard before WWI. There does not appear to be any cohesion to the collection and it is unknown how the donor came to obtain them.
