LC-Lot-803-32:  Aleutian Islands Campaign, June 1942 - August 1943.   Allied Landing on Attu Island, May 11 1943. Japanese Gear Fell Into American Hands.  Inland from shoreline of a small cove along the west of Massacre Bay, this Japanese gear was found at foot of valley where Japanese living quarters were located.  The type of material was reported to indicate a seaplane base had been planned by the Japanese.  U.S. Navy photograph, released May 29, 1943.   Photographed through Mylar sleeve.
