1942

During the Battle of Makassar Strait (Balikpapan), destroyers John D. Ford, Parrott, Pope, and Paul Jones attack the anchored Japanese invasion force in the harbor of Balikpapan, Borneo, sinking four of 12 transport ships.

1945

Submarine Blackfin (SS 322) sinks the Japanese destroyer Shigure in the Gulf of Siam.

1956
